Just rang HMRC and was told that this error message is itself an error and the system is operating correctly. Told me to ignore it and send my RTN and even if I get the message assume it has been submitted, but to check online in a couple of days. So I did that and it has been accepted ! I have wasted hours and hours of my life that I will never get back ! Oh yes I ran my RTI yesterday and that was fine, so I even did that before submitting my RTN - which you are told NEVER to do !!! It seems Sage and other payroll software is effected. Many employers can not upgrade their software so they can use RTI because they have not yet managed to get their returns for last year accepted by the government Gateway. There are also concerns that the switch from the RTI Pilot version of the returns to the full RTI returns for 2013-14 (yes amazingly they are not the same) may not be going smoothly Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29600742611858461.post-75527937072519860852013-04-07T15:22:04.398+01:002013-04-07T15:22:04.398+01:00Looking at the comments on the www.ukbusinessforum...Looking at the comments on the www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk and www.accountingweb.co.uk it looks as though RTI may now be functioning in part but employers using HMRCs basic PAYE tools apparently can not make their pre RTI 2012-2013 Employers P35 Employers submission online until at least 10th April. This is a major headache for small employers because they can not download the RTI version of this product for 2013-14 until they have actually made their End of Year submission for 2012-2013 as the two applications are incompatible and can not run side by side on the same machine. HMRC have effectively made it impossible for these employers to comply with the RTI statutory deadlines for reporting their PAYE details. Just as well they have relaxed the penalty regime.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29600742611858461.post-56881925227284262732013-04-07T00:20:01.103+01:002013-04-07T00:20:01.103+01:00People already having issues according to the UK B...People already having issues according to the UK Business Forum

http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=2225047Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
