You don't get 'honoured' in the UK unless you're dirty and serve the establishment. That's putting it politely. Buckingham Palace was boarded up before March 2020, Operation London Bridge. Rubber Masks and CGI since then, no more gongs dished out by that lot. Enjoy the show.
HMRC gets another PAC with the same bullshit questions and the same bullshit answers.
This time it's the turn if the billionaires and their assets that HMRC can't keep track of.
New resources, new day, new crackdown.
Its all just theatre. Government slashed funding and staff to the bone, then play to the cameras telling HMRC how bad they are. I suppose it could be done with AI now. HMRC have been swimming in information, just no staff. Good ones retired or office closed.
HMRC is very slow off the mark with AI. Focus groups and reviews instead of just building and deploying them. AI Voice Agents could be trialed out of hours and get call waiting times to zero, let staff do real work.
