HMRC are happy to enforce the rules when it suits them. Low hanging fruit, some poor 80 year old Doris gets a brown envelope and a knock on the door by some goblin. The big players get away with it .
They'll hide behind the bullshit having an obligation to collect all the tax that's due.
HMRC should have the doors closed permanently. Let's see how the SCS brigade survive when they've got to sign on.
Civil Service Jobs portal is always worth its weight in gold for comedy value alone.
One example is 'Platform Owner', Grade 6, almost 80k a year. Doing what? It won't be taking an f&£#ing ear full from Doris the disgruntled punter that's for sure

Would HMRC cease to exist if this non job wasn't filled immediately. No, I don't think so either.
That's just one job and there's plenty more where that comes from. There are some relevant ones, Accountant, wonderful. Recruit immediately. There's more than are just pointless waste of taxpayers money to forward emails, talk shit at meetings while drinking coffee and eating Jaffa Cakes
