DeleteI get your point to an extent but I think there is a serious flaw in your argument, which is that nobody is being undermined.
Also it is very questionable how many posters on here are trying to raise standards in HMRC. Most posters are happy to come on here and call all staff in HMRC 'scumbags', 'corrupt', 'evil', whatever. Hardly rational or useful additions to the debate.

Giving HMRC access to anything is a recipe for disaster, child benefit fiasco and overtaxing pensions. Now they're pissing a few hundred million of our money on this with a decade long contract.
