MPs To Quiz HMRC Chief Over Rayner’s Affairs

The Treasury Committee’s decision to question the HMRC chief about Rayner’s tax affairs is a significant development. The focus of the inquiry is the Capital Gains Tax (CGT) rules, which are at the heart of the row over Rayner’s property dealings.

Well, as fascinating as this might be, it will achieve SWFA; as Rayner (like everyone else) is entitled to confidentiality wrt her tax affairs (unless she is on trial or has been formally charged). HMRC will brush this aside and say they don't comment on individual's tax affairs.

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. Completely agree. Everyone is entitled to taxpayer confidentiality. Sadly, though, HMRC have broken the law in this regard on multiple occasions in the past - as long as it suits their agenda against whoever their latest victim is.

I don't really understand the fixation with Angela Rayner. Guess it's all part of the game required to pretend we have a democracy with competing options. We don't.

Labour and Conservatives are the same. Two cheeks of the same arse. They represent the global elites: economically to the far right (but with sky high taxes on the working classes); socially to the far left - deliberate open door policy, woke, EDI agendas etc.

As an accountant dealing with business people daily, I am yet to speak to anyone who actually wants to vote for the LabCon stitch up. I shall be voting for the the SDP in my local constituency.

    1. You're watching a 'movie'. All fake since March 2020, CGI and Rubber Mask politicians, royals, celebrities with the military running the show behind scenes. All online if you want to look.

I doubt HMRC will exist in 12 months time. Not in the way that it does now.

      Enjoy The Show.

  2. It's an abuse of process by the Treasury Committee.

Mr Harra can be questioned about how HMRC is being managed and overall governance

It's Mr Harra who should be putting in the complaint.

  3. He can be asked about the heavy handed approach they're taking and applying tax legislation. With a department that's forcing people to sell their homes and 'Refer to the Samaritans'

    1. As a HMRC employee that story appalls me! It smacks of a petty dictator case worker or some clueless new starter following procedure by numbers.
