Do Not Create Fear In Others!

It beggars belief that HMRC have to tell their staff not to create fear in others!

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. I'm happily retired but I can imagine some of the worst culprits driving this initiative through with "let's learn the lessons" , "we are where we are" and " let's look to the future, rather than look back".

The organisation itself is nasty - the way it implemented Performance Management , threatened to alter the redundancy terms, steamroller Building Our Future & has covered its mean spirited practices with a well oiled spin machine.

I have seen at least 4 of the worst examples of people who create fear, that have each had a couple of promotions in the last 6 years.

They happily operate at SEO or Grade 7 level when they should have been sacked or demoted!

    Nothing will change!

    1. Me too; the management culture that came in when Nick Montagu kick-started the initiatives under John Major did for many of us. It's so bad now I cannot see a way back.

      Harry Dross was right!

  2. The bigoted and bullying attitude of Antony Moss -an overpaid Grade 7 - would have resulted in any normal employer instigating a serious disciplinary investigation. In HMRC such bullies are promoted. Monsters & cowards.

  3. As a current staff member....a truly horrible hole where band Os upwards without an ounce of integrity queue up to fawn about how wonderful and fabulous the HMRC is on the internal internet and Yammer....it's nauseating... Pure propoganda from the HMRC Gestapo.....utter scum

  4. Comments page on HMRC Yammer page is full of the usual admin staff (Management/HR/COMMS/OE, etc) praising this crap, explaining how it's the responsibility of everybody to show 'Respect', whilst front line Tax workers are rightly replying it's not them who were responsible for implementing PMR, which not only led to unprecedented levels of bullying, but also meant staff were completing pointless admin tasks to show 'Engagement' rather than front line tasks.

Someone in admin will get promoted for this bollocks.

As usual, the department continues to ask questions, ignore the answers and then do what they were doing to do anyway.

Still have zero sympathy for the so-called Loan Charge 'victims' though.
