Possible Way To Avoid £100 Late Filing Fine?

I have no idea if this excuse, if you do file late, will work.

It would save time, and stress if you file before the deadline!

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. Do HMRC have any interest in "#SavingLives!" ? I would like to think so, but all the evidence suggests they couldn't give two fucks about driving their own staff to the verge of suicide through their brutal, cowardly, dishonest conduct - why would they view taxpayers any differently?

    1. Good point. I, personally, have killed myself on three separate occasions due to bullying by cowardly,law-breaking HMRC management scum of the earth.

    2. Listen, though I have great sympathy with anyone suffering due to the Loan Charge, from a legal point of view, despite their protestations to the contrary, I can see nothing fundamentally unfair with pursuing these liabilities.

The bigger scandal is the way HMRC treats its staff. The Laura Whyte report (circa 2018) has done nothing to change the HMRC workplace bullying culture, and crucially nobody has been sacked or prosecuted for bullying; aiding & abetting bullying; or covering up bullying.

Once we have seen cases prosecuted, we will know HMRC are serious about cleaning up the Department, until then it will sadly remain an unsafe place to work.

  2. Great idea.

Then when HMRC collect less money, we can complain about that.

There are NO 'Loan Charge' victims.

Doesn't the fact that the department is bending over backwards to help these poor little tax avoiding rich ba$tard$ with time to pay and special advisers PROVE that they're mostly wealthy people with well paid accountants with friends in high places?

Compare and contrast to how the department treats poor people who miss a single TTP payment.

If you don't want to pay a late filing penalty, file on time. Millions do it.

    1. I agree and I find it objectionable that they refer to themselves as "victims" like they've suffered a crime. The only thing they are a victim of is their own stupidity in thinking that that a loan scheme was above board.
