Clasper Joins Serco

Mike Clasper, the former Chairman of HMRC, has taken a non-executive directorship with Serco, a government services company. Clasper takes on his new role this month.

By happenstance HMRC paid Serco £42.6M in 2011/12 for one year of website development and support.

£43M for a website!

Easy money!

Tax does have to be taxing.

Professional Cover Against the Threat of Costly TAX and VAT Investigations

Insurance to protect you against the cost of enquiry or dispute with HMRC is available from several sources including Solar Tax Investigation Insurance.

However, neither Ken Frost nor HMRCISSHITE either endorses or recommends their services.

What is Solar Tax Investigation Insurance?

  1. Don't suppose that site and support were connected to RTI?

Doesn't really matter as there will have been absolutely no connection to subsequent employment of Clasped by Servo via anything other than total adherence with policy and ethics. No conspiracies here?

    Whoa! Mind the doors Please!

Heaven help the private sector, are they still using Pacesetter?

  2. Ken,
Is this the same Mike Clasper as reported in The Telegraph 28.4.12 as having taken the post with the aim of restoring public confidence after the 2 discs fiasco, and also being forced to apologise for the treatment of taxpayers (not customers) by the Treasury Select Committee?

    Mission Accomplished...Not!
