HMRC Goes It Alone On Verification

HMRC has confirmed that it will go it alone and develop its own identity assurance solution to replace Government Gateway when it ends in March 2018 – rather than using the government’s flagship GOV.UK Verify.

Government Gateway allows individuals, businesses and agents to use government services online by proving and authenticating their identity, and currently has more than 50 million active accounts.

In theory HMRC will provide a more agile, flexible and secure set of services, and at a lower cost.

Let's see how this goes then!

Tax does have to be taxing.

Professional Cover Against the Threat of Costly TAX and VAT Investigations

Insurance to protect you against the cost of enquiry or dispute with HMRC is available from several sources including Solar Tax Investigation Insurance.

Ken Frost has negotiated a 10% discount on any polices that may suit your needs.

However, neither Ken Frost nor HMRCISSHITE either endorses or recommends their services.

What is Solar Tax Investigation Insurance?

Solar Tax Investigation Insurance is a tax-fee protection service that will pay up to £75,000 towards your accountant's fees in the event of an HM Revenue & Customs full enquiry or dispute.

  1. Agile. Flexible. Secure. Lower cost. Yep, that sounds like something HMRC would deliver alright.

  2. Yes-bugger the taxpayer, let's use something that won't work and will cost ten times as much over the next few years fixing it.

  3. Do they know aomething about GOV.UK.Verify that Government experts don't know? Or is it a queston of a partnership with a 'preferred public sector partner'? Hint, follow the money as well as the revolving doors!

    1. ???? Corruption in HMRC has happened in many forms!!!

    2. Where are HMIC? When are they going to get that investigation into misconduct, past and present, started? What on earth are they waiting for?

People have described HMRC management as psychopaths, and they must have their excessive powers curtailed until the guilty are brought to account.
