  2. No surprise. Many staff and former staff will attest that the culture is toxic, and dishonesty and casual corruption goes unchecked. If sheep turn a blind eye then we get the hmrc we deserve.
As for Future Revenue Benefit lol lol lol lol lol. The better educated always knew this is dodgy at best, and at worst feels like fraud.
Wonder whether any brown noses, yes people, low IQ closed mind coward types etc can defend their HMRC masters on this one ? ?

  3. With "well written" press releases which most of the media unquestioningly regurgitate, that explains why HMRC employ more staff to work in 'communications' than those who work in tax. (The huge amount of staff HMRC have on the gravy train doing 'non-jobs' is a whole topic in it's own right).

And with such an unskilled, inexperienced, well below par workforce it's much easier for HMRC to spin lies than to get their act together.

Whatever lies HMRC tell, however repugnant, they do not care who gets harmed by their behaviour. They lack empathy and it's all about them. Psychopaths is a word which spring to mind.

  4. They have slashed jobs and offices for decades. People who knew the score and what they were doing. Then they kick up a stink when the till looks a little light this year.

How many of these shitwits have been in front of a PAC in the last decade? They just sit there, making funny faces and read verbatim from a script. Do you expect a straight answer? Indirect, evasive and non committal perhaps. "We don't accept that at all", looked down upon by some Sir Humphrey public school shit kicker. It's just a day out for Jonny the Pig.

Come to the Cabaret old chum.....

    1. Spot on - the senior so-called leadership are pretty much a bunch of shysters. of course they attempt to justify their fuckwit ways or worse general wickedness by saying they are just doing their jobs...

  6. No surprise. The culture is toxic and damaging to say the least. Rather than concentrating on the work, much time is wasted in front of whiteboards, or attending meetings about their future.

Unfortunately, work results matter less than buzzwords or the flavour of the month (word clouds etc). So those who can actually do the job are often overlooked for someone who can 'talk the talk'.

Top Managers say one thing, or say they're listening, then do the exact opposite. And those at the top only seem to stay a few years, usually introducing some extra chaos they can put on their cv's. (Or sticking round long enough for an honour).

It's no coincidence that HMRC constantly ranks among the lowest Government Dept's on the internal staff surveys. The place is toxic, demoralising and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

  7. As HMRC are proven liars, how can the taxpayers trust them not to dishonestly screw them over?

HMRC's culture of dishonesty, threats, intimidation and brutal unrelenting violence & nastiness is an affront to British democracy.

They are not fit for purpose. We need a full investigation into their conduct, starting from the top!

  8. HMRC are worse than payday lenders in how they collect debt according to a National Audit Office report:

  9. PMR created a monster. The staff that are so frightened to challenge anything ran with it creating a culture of shop thy colleague protect thyself. Very sad you know who you all are. There are still some very good decent people within hmrc trying to fight these morons for the good of our country. Good luck to you brave people.

    1. Well said. Hmrc is now such a toxic environment to work in i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.Dangerous to health and not conducive to an efficient tax system or truth & justice. There are indeed some decent people in Hmrc but there are also some worthless, vile filth, scom of the earth types who will cover up VIOLENT bullying and lawbreaking to cover up their inadequacy and get a fake 'top performer'marking. A fraudulent appraisal system which does nothing to keep the unscrupulous honest and girls the bullying culture.

    2. Typo due to predictive text: fuels the bullying culture.

  10. Start with Victoria Lightfoot and Ann Teasdale. Call centre jobsworths who don't give a damn about who's head they trample on and hide any accident form that indicates their bullying and stress caused.

    1. Suppressing evidence of violence, bullying & harassment inside HMRC is a very common management & HR tactic.

A criminal investigation into what has gone on would be a start.
