  1. Yes paying tax gives me a sense of dread as well -this was a bullshit scheme , the "loans " were never intended to be repaid and the beneficiaries knew what they were doing , forget the usual crap blaming their advisers who as usual walk away scot free ( hence the old joke about " where is the customers yachts ? " ) , now they are being given in effect loans in terms of time to pay . No problem with using schools and hospitals which other mug taxpayers have to pay for, and no recognition that HMRC advised these schemes would not work nine years ago .Yes they may have been legal when devised so is every tax scam until overturned.Perhaps when they wish to have hospital treatment after their suicide attempt and find that their is no hospital because as this site advocates tax is theft and to be avoided at all costs the truth will dawn on them , you get what you pay for.

  2. Errr...
If its legal when you plan and undertake it wtf is the problem?
Making it illegal and passing an amendment or similar simply draws the start of the timeline.
Backdating or retrospectively makimg illegal that which was previously illegal seems to be the problem?

  4. The tax code in this country never stated that these schemes were lawful ,a five year old could see that paying money to an offshore trust to pay out "loans " which would never be repaid was nonsense, and the bulk of the money collected so far is from companies -the loans are ongoing which means that the effect is retrospective-if it was not bleeding hearts would then complain about people getting away with it in the past. What is wrong is the number of accountants and advisors who as usual will not suffer as usual .

  5. we should be a flat rate low tax country with a simplified system with limited reliefs and a streamlined Hmrc.

    1. Try getting a simplified tax system past the accountancy lobby.
The more complex the system the more they can charge for their services.

  6. The House of Lords have a good track record recently on bringing the Shitpit to task about such issues? They have been quiet on this subject?

Brexit has been taking all the airtime. There is only so much spin the human race can put up with from the Tory traitors.

This fiasco is at risk of falling through the cracks.

  7. HMRC has made six loan charge arrests. I suppose they have to look like they are doing something. Gives them a nice little smokescreen should they be hauled before a Public Accounts Committee.
