HMRC Community Noted For NI Lie on Twitter

HMRC recently tweeted a blatant lie about NI payments being a forward payment for the state pension.

Unsurprisingly HMRC was duly slagged off by all and sundry, and also received a Community Note for their troubles.

Suffice to say, HMRC were forced to delete the tweet!

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. More outstanding performance figures for HMRC.

700 years on hold. Almost a 30 minute wait time which has deteriorated 5%, with a very large amount of competition paid out. 719 years and 718k in compensation.

    Lucky number for HMRC.

  2. The Lucky Number 7 for HMRC...

Sir Jim should pop down to the Mecca Bingo after Retirement.

Instead of pissing taxpayer money on an endless precession of consultants, perhaps it would be better spent having people to do the job.

  3. I worked for HMRC across three decades.

The fact they tell lies is no surprise to me...no surprise to colleagues...no surprise to accountants.

Ever noticed how they just seem to get away with it though?

    1. I agree. Abhorrent people who destroy the proud, historic reputation of our civil service.

    1. RIP. A transformative chairman.

The rot started under Straithie and Homer and was accelerated by Thompson and Harra.
