I see that stressed HMRC staff at Elgin House in Edinburgh were invited to cuddle and stroke dogs to boost their wellbeing.
The Times reports that the “therapet” service, provided free of charge by the Canine Concern Scotland Trust (CCST), was booked for employees at an Edinburgh tax centre last month.
It is believed to be the first time “stress puppies” have been used in Scotland by a government agency.
During a 45-minute session, about 40 HMRC staff at Elgin House de-stressed by spending time with a border collie and a golden retriever. The HMRC said it was a “one-off” initiative and did not reduce employees’ productivity.
