As the 31 October paper filing deadline for self assessment forms looms near, HMRC have reached out for help to the occasionally maligned (by HMRC) tax agents.CA Mag quote Stephen Banyard, director of HMRC's Business Customer Unit:
"Agents are a key source of information for a large proportion of the SA filing population, so we would really welcome their help this year in getting those paper returns in on time."
Tax does have to be taxing.

ReplyDeleteIt was not so long ago that the powers to be where trying to arrange fines for agents who helped people reduce their tax bill. Now they are looking to them to help get the returns in on time so they can sit in somebody’s in tray for a couple of months.
