Not sure they have the budget to re-programme all their systems to prevent automatic penalties, they certainly do not have the resources to administer their penalty regimes manually.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the lazy public at large have fallen into a big Government and HMRC trap by using the telephone and internet instead of pen - word processor - and paper. If they ere to do so then HMRC in its present form would crumble under the stain with the result that government would be forced to address a long standing problem of HMRC's credibility and the tax system in its enrirety.
