Whither Meet The Taxman?

In Q1 2014 I wrote about a fly on the wall documentary series about HMRC being commissioned, entitled "Meet The Taxman".

Here we are in June 2015, and not a sight nor sound of the documentary series.

Has anyone any ideas as to what happened to it?

Did cameras ever appear at any of the HMRC offices?

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. Considering they gave the programme makers Tiger Aspect no holds barred, unedited access, I would expect they have stalled and waited for general election to be over before going on with this.

  2. That's not the one you want to be interested in. the covert programme from earlier this year should have aired by now.

  4. Tiger Aspect Productions on behalf of Channel 4 completed the filming at Dundee Contact Centre from what I have been told. I have emailed C4 about the scheduling and this was the response....

  6. I'm in it too, I no longer work for them but still waiting to see if I made the cut

  7. Documentary still not been aired? Can't see that HMRC would allow anything other than positive PR into the final edit, so not sure the public will learn anything from it.

    1. Would like to know did HMRC select staff for this, was it yes people only or did they allow some authentic voices?

Were HMRC whistle-blowers, HMRC workplace abuse victims etc given a chance to put some balance to it all, or was it just going to be a polished fake news type of programme?
