  1. They have no plan B for Enquiry Centres either ie RTI will either work or will be a complete disaster than takes HMRC years to fix but everyone will have to carry on regardless.

Plan B is for management with no confidence in it's decisions HMRC management is confident in everything it does even if it fails.

You have to admire the management they stick to their beliefs even when it all goes tits up time after time after time.

  2. If it hasn't already, the revolving door at HMRC HQ will shortly fly off it mountings. Arrogantly informing the PAC there was no plan B is going to backfire as the Politico's are not going to carry the can for thi disaster.
Perhaps Homer will head Common Purpose (UKgov.co) after all?
Excom could be shipped out to the Far East as a job lot to oversee the UK's "waste recycling" landfills, they must be used to being surrounded by a complete mess and utter rubbish by now!
The whiteboard brigade could be sent to the DMZ between NK & SK.
The lower level managers who are afraid of their own shadows might just about get a job at Walmart.
The Muppets do not deserve being asociated with this lot and even Gonzo on a bad day had more going for him.
