However, HMRC have pulled him at the last minute.
Anyone know why?
HMRC are denying he was due to appear.
.@JolyonMaugham That's right. Edward Troup was never due to appear. It was always to be Lin, Jim and Jennie.

Homer also issued a denial:
.@JolyonMaugham Hi Jolyon, that is not correct. Here’s our statement: pic.twitter.com/31A6y2vv9U

Yet he is mentioned on Parliamentary Business.
Could it be HMRC is "confused"?
Tax does have to be taxing.

Well someones telling porkies as Troup was listed on the PAC site details for those HMRC bods attending. Perhaps the press office ought to do a modicum of research before spouting cap?
ReplyDeleteInteresting TV coverage, looks as though Politician's are seeing through Homer & Co's lies and smoke and mirrors at long last.
The shitestorm is gathering momentum by the hour.
Evens on revolving door for Homer and a few others before the election?
Wait till the whistle blowing lid blows off on this lot!
they've been telling politicians 'its raining' while they've actually been 'pissing up their backs'
ReplyDeletePoliticians are too thick to see it and its the 'old boys' network. the casualties if any will just be moved on.
Home is getting a real roasting. Her and Troup need to be fired.
ReplyDeleteTheir managers fired people at AA and AO grade for time keeping. They ignored millionaire tax evaders.
its the HMRC way, lies and deceit to cover how poorly they are actually performing and go for the little guy instead of the people that are costing us Millions
ReplyDeleteThis one isn't going away quietly, not only has it called into question the way HMRC has been failing to protect the revenue, surely it's primary function along with collecting it, but it has also called into question their ability to investigate tax crime, prosecution not being their responsibility.
ReplyDeleteWonder what "dear old Amyas" thought of it all?
Investigators can only investigate what they are given to investigate. If investigators are not given these cases to investigate, they won't be looked at. Yet another case of the old boys network working very well at higher management levels.
ReplyDeleteThere has got to be a way of getting a totally independent and all areas review of HMRC so that we can have some confidence that they are doing what they should be professionally, consistently, and without bias / interference.
