  2. They'll be paying me Thousands when I beat these idiots in court, watch this space cos I will report my victory. They haven't learnt from the last case they lost, and precedents have been set, they will be quoted, and the HMRC will be given the bill. My estimate £120,000 - £150,000. Talk to you later.

  3. Come on then, don't keep us all in suspense. What was the case they lost and the precedents?

  4. Not until I've had my day, they'll be watching this exchange, so too much info will work against me. As soon as its safe to do so you'll get all the info and the amount its cost the tax payer due to these idiots. Look at previous threads and you'll see I've been on about this since summer of last year, so its been at least 300 days so far, don't hold your breath for the outcome, but it is a formality that I will succeed and these idiots will pay. 5. Never under estimate the HMRC. They are corrupt, law breakers and desperate to get a result. that's why you will succeed, they are blind to the fact that they have lost and just blunder on until a district judge gives them a reality check. good luck, I know where you're at with this case and you're right, the outcome is certain.

  9. HMRC have officially ruined my life, I did as I was told on my first tax return for my new business and it had made a loss as I had expected, HMRC checks stated I was owed money back from them, brilliant I did the online claim and was told 2-6 weks , gave them a call to make sure and all was above board I waited two weeks then knowing it would be soon dug out all my savings from this year and paid back the start of business loans knowing this money would be in soon and I could finally relax after a stressful and penny pinching start off!!! After two months I became a bit concerned, called them as the online was telling me to claim again and no status or anything in it, I called them to be told they had no info, then a coupl more months of chasing via pointless phone calls p, ignored emails, mignonette letters, being sent irellavent replies ie do next years tax return, local MP has not replied! And I have asked my insolvency practitioner to write them a letter at there request for whatever reason!! I have extreme bad depression that's returns due to this I'm about too loose my business and my home and praying too loose the one thing I do have left!! They are aware of all of this and don't seem to care a pice!!! Welcome UK people to hard work, if I owed them money I bet thy would take it more serious!!

    1. Little confused here. It was the first time you had a self assessment return but you were told you were owed tax back to you? From which source was the tax taken from you?

Are you sure it wasn't an e-mail pretending to be HMRC? As the real HMRC doesn't invite repayment claims in the manner that you suggested.

  10. I get threatening letters from HMRC at least twice a week, and always for tax I've already paid. I spend more and more time trying to run my tiny business (just me) because their endless threats mean phone calls that they don't answer, until the stage where I just overpay to get them off my back. They were talking about raiding my home recently to "recover what I owe them." I have no problem paying tax to keep the country going, but I do have a problem when HRMC treat me like a criminal for doing NOTHING wrong. They are the criminals, in my opinion. They have too much power, are too unaccountable, and never respond to requests for information. Another example of how we are, slowly but surely, losing our rights.
