HMRC's Internal Communications Problems!

My thanks to a loyal reader who sent me this response that he received from the supposedly "merged" HMRC yesterday, in relation to a query he submitted one month ago:

You have submitted your query to the VAT Online Services Helpdesk and not the HMRC Online Services Helpdesk. Unfortunately, I am not able to send this to them internally. Please resubmit your enquiry selecting the appropriate area of tax at the link below:

Alternatively, you can call them on 0300 200 3600.
