  1. Been a quiet week so far, 1/2 way through tomorrow and still the SHTF moment is yet to occur.
The Fraggle Rock Doozers must have been burning the midnight oil over the weekend to keep last weeks various diatribes at bay. Must have been one hell of a convocation!

However, keep the faith and always remember that the old ones are best - "Non Illegitimine Carborundum" as was inscribed on somebody's watch if my memory serves me?

  2. Waste of time writing to Mel Stride.

He is Minister "responsible for" HMRC but it is a non ministerial department.

All he will do is parrot the line fed to him by HMRC. Wholly out of his depth and unable (and unwilling) to address the lunacies and crass behaviours of an HMRC leadership attempting to cover past egregious errors by ruining the lives of thousands.

Let's see if their bombast survives the impending Commons Committee report on handing of tax disputes.

One of the worst things HMRC have ever done: attempt to cover for 20 years of indolence and incompetent management by getting a pliant Financial Secretary to endorse retrospective legislation.

Many of impacted were put into these arrangements by adviser, agencies and in some cases public sector organisations seeking to reduce their cost base.

In practical terms despite all the bullshit from HMRC these are treated same as people knowingly entering into abusive schemes.

The "Oh but we are not seeking sale of house or Bankruptcy" line is particularly mendacious because for many that is the only possible outcome
