HMRC's New Flowchart

Flowchart
Accounting Web reports that HMRC have designed a flowchart to help agents identify whether or not "reasonable excuse" for late filing will apply to individual cases.

Excellent!

In the event that the agents cannot understand the flowchart, or need more help with it, agents are advised to contact HMRC Agent Priority Lines.

However, there is one small problem.

Can you guess what that is?

Yes, that's right HMRC's agent advisers at present do not have knowledge or access to the same flowchart.

Errmmm...why not?

Seemingly, according to Accounting Web, the Priority Line will offer "tea an sympathy".

Two lumps please!

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. Nice flowchart you found there Ken. I suspect it'll be as much use as the real one!

  2. Off topic I know but bullied HMRC employees please note: Performance Pay is an active demotivator - it means in effect: "find out what the minimum effort is to obtain a "good" marking"... and don't do a jot more than that, because one thing is for sure, unless you're one of the boss's drinking/golfing buddies you ain't gonna ever get a "top" marking!!!
