Poor Old Jack - Liar Liar

Well my buckos, things seem to be moving forward don't they?

Dave "Jack" Hartnett appeared before the HOC Public Accounts Committee yesterday, and was called a liar.

My thanks to the loyal reader who posted the link to the video.

If you want to see the moment that Jack's world fell apart, you can do so by going to the HOC site.

As earlier comments have mooted, don't feel too sorry for Jack; as and when he is "resigned", I dare say he will be offered a bevy of NED positions in various companies (eg the giant vampire squid) to cover his cost of living etc.

  1. Think that Jack is back in the dock today at 3.15, hopefully some more damming revelations will ensue.

  2. Jack has his face stuck in the right Pie.

He knows HMRC is sunk and when hes told to go, a cosy position and later a golden handshake awaits him from his Lunch buddies Goldman.

Very smart cookie is our Jack.

  6. There was a story posted on the intranet late today along the lines of "We're sorry HMRC is receiving bad press again but we beleive our lawyers are something we can hide behind, HMRC doesn't do backroom deals and anyone who breaches taxpayer confidentiality will be shot at dawn".

I'd love to know why the upper echelons of HMRC beleive that they are somehow still supported by the majority of workers. Problem is with ego's/lack of integirty such as EXCOM's they'd pretty much try to operate within a bubble with no support whatsoever if they could get away with it.

  7. Anyone know what the alleged special conditins were that either the Treasury or the Cabinet imposed on HMRC a little while ago?
Wonder if it was along the lines of shape up or ship out?
There are more skeletons in the cupboards than the Khymer Rouge had!
