Loyal readers will recall that in August I wrote about HMRC's "grand plan" to "recruit" an extra 1,000 staff:
"HMRC will recruit "up to" an additional 1,000 call centre staff, and "invest" "up to" an additional £34M by 2014 in an attempt to resolve the shite call handling performance."HMRC have indeed been boasting about this "plan" ever since.
My thanks therefore to a loyal reader who posted the following update about the "plan":
"The 1000 jobs are all telephone tax credits inquiry jobs, fixed term until end of March 2013, with no permanent job at the end of term. People who were originally on telephones will be moved to personal tax jobs within the same sites. I know this as a fact."Please feel free to provide me with further updates on HMRC's "grand plan".
Tax does have to be taxing.
