HMRC Ranking In Civil Service People Survey

As I noted in December 2012, HMRC's engagement index derived from its 2012 People Survey was not exactly stellar; 41% to be precise (in 2011 it was 40%).

How then did HMRC compare with other civil service departments?

Well finally I am able to tell you, as the results were released last Friday (why such a long delay?)

HMRC came third to last, only two other departments scored worse:

- the Rural Payments Agency at 38%, and
- the Border Force at 36%

See the rankings here.

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. Is that the same Border Force that used to feature one Ms. L Homer on the board?

  2. Common denominator - common purpose - evangelical adherence to pacesetter/lean diktat, remember Communism as was?

LOFL you could dream this up, and BTW was the list a lot longer this year?

Of course, last but 2 or 3rd from last is evidence of a massive improvement on previous years, NOT!

What does this mean for HMRC and its "managers"? Feck all probably, but when it implodes shortly as RTI etc collapses perhaps, just perhaps, someone will do something!

Well done Muppets, a predictable performance to usual standards expected from this long running farce.

    Out to you Shills

  3. It would be interesting to read the corporate/on-line message to the troops following this performance.

  4. The message to the troops was "we need to improve employee engagement", cue business unit heads asking for volunteers to meet with them for discussions.
When our manager sent the e mail out asking for volunteers..... No one replied, so he chose two "volunteers" to attend.... What's wrong with this picture!
