Thuggish Bailiffs II

WTF

Last week I wrote about HMRC's debt chasing letters, sent to people who are overdue with their tax bill.

George Mudie, deputy chairman of the Commons Treasury committee, described HMRC's tactics as akin to "thuggish bailiffs".

Sadly it seems (according to the Mail) that these letters are not just sent to people who are late in paying their tax, but also to those who have spoken to HMRC and have agreed a debt repayment plan with HMRC.

Tax does have to be taxing.

  2. Yes, and they (letters)are also sent---- despite HMRC themselves, having asserted that they would not venture to persue the debt (in my case)..yet 2/3 years on, the bully boy tactics start again.
I DO wish they would make their mind up....and I also wish that instead of THREATENING removal of toenails/entrails/gizzards, that they would actually DO something--- instead of empty written promises of D-O-O-M.

  4. "Comment Deleted?"

It was deleted by me (the author and not Ken) as it could have been used to identify a member of staff within HMRC.

  5. As has been posted before, they love to bully people who they believe owe them money.
But as often is the case, if they happen to owe you something they couldnt give a rats arse what you think or how you approach them.
They treat people, internally and tax payers like shit.

  6. The public are just numbers and a nuisance to HMRC. So listen up, stop harrassing HMRC and do as you are told. They are allowed to make mistakes, threaten and bully you because you are all stupid.

For those clever cloggs out there grassing HMRC up to the law courts, MP's and the media, how fucking dare you mess with HMRC?
