Over 10m people submit a self-assessment tax return to HMRC each year. If you choose to do this by filling out a paper form (SA100) the deadline is 31 October.
Miss this and you'll receive an automatic £100 fine.
Tax does have to be taxing.

Unless things have changed you do not automatically get a fine for not filing by 31 Oct on paper you still have the chance to do it online by 31 January and then you have to file online every year you cannot go back to paper.
