Leaky HMRC

inews reports that HMRC is to seek “clarification” from Boris Johnson on where the £58,000 to pay for the refurbishment of his Downing Street flat came from and whether it should have been declared.

A source from HMRC said that the Prime Minister would be “treated like any other taxpayer” as it seeks “clarification” on whether Mr Johnson derived any benefit in kind from any loans or donations for the refurbishment of No 11 Downing Street.

While the HMRC source made clear no formal investigation had been launched into the Prime Minister’s financial affairs, he added:

“Things like this are declared by UK taxpayers all the time and it is the role of HMRC to clarify with people if these are subject to tax. The Prime Minister is no different to anyone else in this regard.”

The PM is indeed not different wrt tax matters. I would therefore query why HMRC is leaking details about what they are doing wrt his tax affairs, given that HMRC normally states that individual's tax affairs are confidential?

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. How about HMRC look into the companies awarded massive Covid related contracts, for which services were either not supplied or were substandard, resulting in massive profits? Some of these companies were shown to have had a balance of many millions once costs of goods/supplies were taken out. Its obscene.

  2. HMRC have little regard for the rules, big or small. After hounding me out of a career with them, they covered up misconduct by several management and HR staff. Wilfully pushing me to the brink of suicide was considered an acceptable tactic by these self-serving, amoral bastards.

A manager divulging confidential personal data to her thug, criminal boyfriend (not an HMRC member of staff btw), contrary to numerous laws and which would land most people before the courts? Not a problem to HMRC if your face fits and you're needed to cover up other elements of corrupt behaviour.

Two Grade 6 officers cobbling together a whitewash report into clearly stated and evidenced allegations of discrimination, bullying, harassment, intimidation and lawbreaking and who failed to investigate the **evidence**? Not a problem to the corrupt HMRC.

HMRC lying in legal proceedings, striking at the very heart of the rule of law? Not a problem to the corrupt HMRC.

Jon Thompson, the then CEO, deliberately and dishonestly making false and misleading statements to an elected Member of Parliament in official correspondence relating to my case? Not a problem to the corrupt HMRC.

Vile staff in the HR Casework team deliberately misleading, gaslighting and goading a former HMRC staff member who they knew they had pushed to the brink by their bullying and cover ups? Not a problem to the corrupt HMRC scumbags.

Leaks from HMRC will not be a surprise to most current or former HMRC staff!! Institutionally corrupt from top to bottom.

Maybe Mr Johnson can order an investigation into the corrupt culture at HMRC.

    3. Can you enlighten us all as to the result of your Employment Tribunal case against HMRC?
I assume you did take them to an ET?
      If not,why not?
Tedious repetition does not make your story any more credible.

  3. Please, please, please tell us why you have not, at the very least, contacted a solicitor and/or the police? If you have evidence, then present it to them. Legal experts will assess if the evidence you have constitutes illegal activity. If you have contacted a solicitor, what was their advice to you? I think we are all aware of the circumstances (you have written about them regularly for a couple of years). And I am not a "brown nose" but believe in justice where wrong has been conducted.
