An HMRC trainee has been awarded more than £16,000 in compensation after an employment tribunal found that serious allegations made against her were fabricated.
The trainee, known as Ms X, had been accused of saying she wanted to use her position at HMRC to “kill Russians for killing her family”.
But the tribunal heard that she never made the comments attributed to her.
Instead, the judge found that her line manager had invented the allegations and made false notes about a private meeting with the trainee.
Ms X, originally from Abkhazia in Georgia, speaks English with a Russian accent. She was granted asylum in the UK in 2004 and subsequently became a British citizen.
The case raises questions about the importance of accurate records, proper management procedures and fairness when serious allegations are made in the workplace.
I have to say, I didn't have "kill Russians" on my HMRC bingo card!

I wonder that the 'line manager' is doing now?
ReplyDeleteWhatever office it was, be careful you don't trip on what's been brushed under the carpet and hushed up..
Say nothing, suddenly it's like it never happened.
How many times has that been the
case in HMRC? More than a few.
It's a rotten organisation
Lol. Keep taking those pills 💊 🤣🤣🤣
DeleteHMRC will put the letter on the pile and make them wait twelve months or get fobbed off when trying to speak to someone on the blower.
ReplyDeleteSomeone has been getting freebies too according to Tiktok.

HMRC is indeed a rotten organisation.
ReplyDeleteWe have a major scandal that will blow your mind, coming soon...
No you don't.
DeleteYou've got history at this.
Your major scandals never arrive.
Not once.
Not one, single, solitary time.
Looks like someone's ungrateful for your hard work in exposing corruption. As an accountant, who started their career at HMRC, me and my colleagues in the office are grateful for this site and enjoy reading your updates - thank you.
Delete@08:05.
DeleteI don't expect a serious reply but this is a serious question: can you give us one example of corruption that he has exposed or, indeed, any detail of any kind in any of his 'updates'?
Or do you think his habit of accusing people who ask him questions of being rapists is 'clever' and 'funny'?
No Shit
ReplyDeleteIf it all goes west, they can always get a sideways move. A good squirt of WD40 on the SCS Revolving Door.
They'll be changing their tune in March when their arses are twitching. "Challenging' 'Lessons learned ' 'More customer focus'.
What do they think is going to happen? A complete shit show from start to finish

I did reply to the nonsense posted on 7 October at 11:49 however the very moderate and polite response was not approved.
ReplyDeleteI find it very disquieting that the individual concerned wants to prevent dissenting voices - people who actually deal with HMRC in the here and now - from being heard. Their goal appears to be to drive down engagement with this blog. What exactly is their agenda?
My post of 7 October was not nonsense. It contained perfectly reasonable and polite questions which you have refused to reply to.
DeleteI am not trying to prevent dissenting voices.
I agree that HMRC is fundamentally shite.
My problem is that this site keeps being hijacked by posters who seriously damage it's credibility.
Do you think that for one second HMRC is quaking in it's boots when it reads utter shite about rape at Xmas parties and the like going back many years and still no detail, no action, no anything.
Your best mate, Exposing the Corrupt, has never given any detail about a single incident regarding HMRC. Perhaps you could ask him when this is likely to change?
And perhaps you could get around to answering my questions of 7 October.
I'm afraid I did give you the time of day and replied to your utter tosh, but it wasn't published.
DeleteI don't believe a word you say. Nobody has mentioned that happened at 'Xmas parties' at any point in time - you are a fantasist!!
I'm not going to entertain you any further. All the best, goodbye.
@16:22
DeleteYou sound unhinged, sir. Did your HMRC job make you like this? Perhaps your PCS rep can get you help 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤣🤣🤣
Ps. When will *you* tell us all about the christmas parties 😉 😜
