Newspeak at its finest. "Reform" "Change" it's been rammed down our throats for a decade. Amazing how it only benefits the elites, not the staff working in the department (what's left of it). Or Mr and Mrs Public, when you could just show up and we would help you.
ReplyDeleteDoes "Reform" involve staff having to work fifty hours a week because they are paid jack shit. Whilst non jobbers come up with 'initiatives' to justify their existence? I don't know, maybe it's just me..

Any chance this prat can get proper job? What he says does not represent the reality of what it's like in HMRC. An awful place run by some abnormal, vile pieces of shit who are worse than a common criminal.

They need to look at themselves realistically. HMRC has become out of touch and is riding roughshod over its employees human rights. It needs to recognise the importance of looking after its greatest asset , its front line workers and not the mouthpieces hiding from the real world who wouldn't last five minutes in outside industry.
ReplyDeleteHMRC is a frankly dangerous & damaging place to work. The psychopaths in management and HR believe that the law of the land does not apply to them. Consequently they treat staff in a violent manner. IF an individual has the bollocks to stand up to this pitiful bunch of cowardly bullies, the gang will CRUSH you and leave you high and dry. No matter how much evidence a wronged HMRC employee has, they will not obtain justice because HMRC will produce a large amount of fake evidence to counter it. HMRC has no qualms with attempting to pervert the course of justice despite the seriousness of that crime which carries a custodial sentence.
ReplyDeleteAnd if they can treat loyal staff like that, just how many injustices have been meted out to unsuspecting taxpayers??
This was what happens in a public body when casual corruption becomes 'normalised'. Frightening stuff in a democratic country.
Good grief! If HMRC are breaking the law what kind of example are they to scum in the general public?
ReplyDeleteUtter posturing drivel so far laughably divorced from operational reality it must be in a parallel universe.
ReplyDeleteOh wait it is: all in the heads of non jobbers who merely get in the way.
Note the limited and wholly self serving definition of "Smarter Working" set out in the intro: it is not demonstrating the actual delivery of smarter working, just the kit and procedures that might make it happen.
Were there any will from demoralisd staff and actual management skills to deliver it.
This is just more sterile box ticking and hopeless PR spin.
Who are these 2 fuckwits? I bet they've never set foot in a HMRC contact centre!
ReplyDeleteOh and HMRC only gave its staff Surface Pros because they couldn't get the IT right for hot desking with workstations!
Oh it's spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on Microsoft kit, mmm.. I wonder where it current CIO is on secondment from?
