HMRC To Sell Data

I see that HMRC is planning to sell tax data to private firms.

Farking demented!

Tax does have to be taxing.

Insurance to protect you against the cost of enquiry or dispute with HMRC is available from several sources including Solar Tax Investigation Insurance.

However, neither Ken Frost nor HMRCISSHITE either endorses or recommends their services.

  1. WTF are this bunch of clowns up to now?

This is immoral at best, at worst it is a breach of the implicit trust we taxpayers place in the system. We have no choice but to supply the data to HMRC in the first place, and that data includes salary, age, post code, children, bank account types, internet provider, pension/s, investments, property etc. etc.

I cannot speak for the rest of you but I choose not to supply this data whether on'line, market reasearch in the street or when buying goods and always ensure that the relevant decline box is completed.

Here we have a Government Monopoly taking our data f.o.c. and selling it on to 3rd parties who will no doubt re-sell at inflated profit to offshore tax haven abusing global entities who then bombard us repeatedly with computer targetted marketing using our initially free at source data.

Then there is the risk, we all recall the numerous data protection failings including the 2 discs fiasco. Should HMRC be allowed to release the data?

Remember, no system is failsafe, no matter what they tell you. Fukushima is an example of the failure of a total failsafe system, mind you putting a Nuclear powerstation on the foreshore of a country with a history of earhtquakes and Tsunami was to be expected by the country that bought you Toyota and Lean or Pacesetter as HMRC rebranded it.

Madness, utter madness, David Davies is correct in his words.

  2. They are going to privatise the Post Handling soon. So they can get rid of staff and blame a private company when data is lost.
