  1. Interesting to see Lord Neuberger has suggested that the courts should expect higher standards of behaviour from public bodies (eg Hmrc) than private bodies or individuals.

    Nothing to disagree with there IMHO, however the dishonest behaviour from Hmrc nowadays is little better than that from a common criminal.

    As for the "HMRC Victim" tweet, the thing to understand is that Hmrc's culture is determined from the top. Yes people thrive in Hmrc. But, sadly, those who attempt to do the right thing are unlawfully mistreated by management. It's a Stalinist atmosphere, with Hmrc crushing any dissent with vile conduct which can only be described as violent and plain evil.

    4. I was a Customs and Excise Officer. Which was mostly very satisfying. HMRC was a disaster. I come on here occasionally to see how things have gone from bad to worse but I find that it's full of rantings and ravings about bullying by some aggrieved person.

    5. Some person on here, a while ago, claimed to have been bullied out after something like 40 years service. They alleged it was subject to a cover up claiming that a manager even resigned over how he was being asked to participate in the cover up. Serious stuff.

      I also remember someone claimed to be taking an Employment Tribunal a few months back. It would though be instructive to know how that went.

  4. Deceit;
    "the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth." (per Google)

    The observant will have noticed a sharp increase as the shill wind that blows no ills brings out the management lackeys and occasional miffed PCS wallah!

    Such is life and it is always easy to spot such ugly cave dwelling creatures, but do not feed the blighters, and as for the light of day, well, as for trolls in general, they do not like it! ;)

  8. Sad to see HMRC can't get a grip on this issue. The accusation of being "deceitful" is damaging to this proud department's reputation however thus far they are doing little or nothing to resolve it.
