HMRC Multiple Systems Crashes

It seems that HMRC's systems (the ones that taxpayers use) have been up and down like yoyos this week.

Given that January is the time when many file their tax returns, this is not the best time for this sort of shenanigans!

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. If it's any comfort to the trade, the internal systems have been up and down all week as well (when they haven't been running as if they were on 56K modems, that is).
