It would appear that #Hmrc has now closed their 100 Parliament Square office completely, as well as Euston Square and Canary Wharf.— GlobalLoanChargeAlliance (@loan_global) March 30, 2020
All meetings cancelled til July due to Covid19 (and us pointing out last week how irresponsible it is by #JimHarrassment keeping them open)!
Tax does have to be taxing.
Tax Investigation Insurance
Having a Solar Protect Tax Investigation Insurance policy at your disposal means that should you be one of the many 1000's of businesses or individuals that are selected by HMRC each year to look into your tax affairs your own accountant (your tax return agent) can get on and defend you robustly.
You have the peace of mind knowing that your accountant's (your tax return agent) fees will be paid by the insurance without any Excess for you to find.

The question is, are HMRC really set up for mass working from home?
ReplyDeleteDo they have sufficient kit and security safeguards?
And if HMRC staff are not working from home, will they suffer a deduction in their salary like many in the private sector, or indeed, the self-employed, many of whom will be getting the square root of nothing.
Perhaps HMRC staff could be redeployed to help the health service and the vulnerable who are self-isolating? We are all in it together.
Not closing offices fast enough it would seem. Sad news.

ReplyDeleteApparently Croydon closed too.
ReplyDeleteI have heard on the grapevine that some investigation officer are going into Custom House with the knowledge of their Managers. There is no need for them to go in, all are allowed to work from home and are not defined as Key Workers. WTF is going on here?
