HMRC Special Treatment For Expats Stuck In The UK

HMRC has issued advice to British expatriates stuck in the UK due to coronavirus over tax residence rules.

HMRC will allow special treatment to be given to expatriates that face risking their non-residence tax status through being stuck in the UK longer than anticipated.

Tax does have to be taxing.

Tax Investigation Insurance

Having a Solar Protect Tax Investigation Insurance policy at your disposal means that should you be one of the many 1000's of businesses or individuals that are selected by HMRC each year to look into your tax affairs your own accountant (your tax return agent) can get on and defend you robustly.

You have the peace of mind knowing that your accountant's (your tax return agent) fees will be paid by the insurance without any Excess for you to find.

  1. With HMRC at the forefront of the government's financial rescue during this public health emergency, we can rest easy that the UK is in safe hands...or maybe not.

  2. Interesting tweet from Dil @Dil90756113, who is a former NHS A&E consultant:
"I used to work as A&E consultant in NHS but because of this
@LC_Impact and stress of the HMRC I had no choice but to leave the UK. Should @RishiSunak @Jesse_Norman @BorisJohnson respect the rule of law and remove the retrospective nature of LC, I will be back in front line".

Come on HMRC, you've destroyed enough lives and caused suicides: NOW, DO YOUR BIT, IN THE NATIONAL EFFORT, TO COMBAT THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK!!! Let talented and much needed people get back to work.

    1. So we are expected to believe that when a highly intelligent, highly paid A&E consultant found themselves paying no tax they never suspected that something wasn't quite right.
I can't believe that people are still taken in by these greedy, selfish shysters.

  3. There are no Loan Charge 'victims', only parasites who tried to pull a fast one and are now crying foul that they're required to pay what they should have in the first place.
