Yesterday I asked if Phil Pavitt had been moved from his role of Chief Information Officer, as his CV on the HMRC site made no mention of this change.
My thanks to a loyal reader who posted a link to the HMRC organisation chart, which shows that Pavitt has indeed been moved. His new title is "Director General Change, Security and Information".
Am I correct in assuming that this is a new position within HMRC, ie did anyone hold this position before?
Mark Hall is now the Chief Information Officer.
Oddly though, as at the time of writing, Pavitt's CV on the HMRC site remains unchanged.
Tax does have to be taxing.

If this bunch of Muppets wants to pay itself "executive wages" then it is about time they started sorting out the basics and stopped getting totally distracted by things such as titles.
ReplyDeleteSince when was anyone in HMRC worthy of the title Director, never mind Director General or heaven forbid CEO.
Grandiouse ideas, schemes and box ticking par excellence leads to one thing - HMRC as it exists today.
WRT Pavitt, perhaps someone in HR mistakenly called in his references from pervious employers or simply googled him. That could explain the revolving door scenario...blimey, if they google Homer and ignore anything with a Simpson suffix they will have kittens.
LOL
Wait till they get caught out misusing RIPA methods without the legitimate authority of the law.
Just because you don't think they are looking at you doesn't mean they aren't!
Every K9 has its day!
Is RIPA being misused by HMRC?
DeleteIf so is there any evidence to support this?
Surely HMRC can do pretty much what it likes under RIPA?
ReplyDeleteIsn't there a bit that goes along the lines of "for the purpose of safeguarding the economic well-being of the United Kingdom" ?
So where does unfit for purpose, lying including to MP's, and failing to cllect and protect the revenue fit into your creed?
ReplyDeleteHere we go, start of another week.
ReplyDeleteWonder what comes flying out of the revolving doors as we move forward?
