Today, at 11am, HMRC call centres will fall silent.
This is not in keeping with November's spirit of war and remembrance, but will sadly be used to deliver news to HMRC staff about their futures within HMRC.
All calls in will be shut off for an hour, while local managers deliver a simultaneous message to all HMRC staff about further redundancies.
