HMRC's Digital Success

HMRC are loudly proclaiming success as personal tax digital registrations have breached 7.4m (400k) above target.

However, taxpayer satisfaction is at 75% compared to the 80% target.

Tax does have to be taxing.

  1. The HMRC regime's propaganda machine has clearly been in action again.

Where would our country we without all those high paid staff in the HMRC Communications Department busily spinning, but not collecting a penny's tax? Oh, we might just have that urgently needed funding for the NHS.

I am afraid the word disgraceful doesn't do the situation justice.

  2. I am sure customer satisfaction is about to improve immensely. At the beginning of each call, there is now a three question satisfaction survey, tax payers can choose to opt into this when phoning HMRC. Taking the survey depends on the HMRC staff member terminating the call first otherwise it does not work. I am sure not many staff will hang up first on a dissatisfied customer as they won't want any bad reviews on their watch. A very simple & easy way to manipulate the satisfaction levels!

  4. Where is the evidence of this success?

HMRC are a dishonest organisation. Their say so does not make it true. It is indeed probably FAKE NEWS from their spin department.

  5. No surprise that take up is high, given that P800s showing a repayment invited taxpayers to sign up & have it paid to their bank account within 5 days!...
The alternative wait 45 days for a cheque to be issued!
