  1. There's a surprise. Chief surfer on the government's rewarding failure Merry-go-round. And she had lots of goes at it and you paid for it. When are taxpayers ever going to learn? These people are paid to be useless or so useless they still get paid. And it's not just at the top. Most middle and low ranking manages are too. And guess what? The useless cheifs promote those that behave like they do and nothing changes. And if they are challenged they get aggressive. (Not banging on bout bullying too much on here already by someone) So Great Britain, badger your MP or go for employment tribunal about the Homer, Thompson & Strathie types or get the civil servants you deserve.

    1. Jon Thompson was dishonest with my local MP in response to serious allegations including a low-ranking manager committing a criminal act (as well as numerous civil law breaking) so I would question the value of that route. They lie and they don't care that they lie because they no there will be no consequences for them.

They're a law unto themselves. Scary stuff.

The civil service, as a whole, requires root & branch reform. It's the lack of consequence culture which has enabled state departments to completely ruin people, from HMRC's bullying through to the appalling treatment of people such as in the Windrush scandal. And for goodness sake, where these civil servants have lied and broken the law, they should be prosecuted no ifs and buts.

    1. Spot on. And the criminals are running amok. Any HMRC staff with integrity learn that it's frowned upon. Jon Boy is an absolute liar who supports the vile culture.

    2. Nothing surprises me about this organisation. I remember when a current Field Force Officer, Richard, boasted that he had accidentally damaged a member of the public's garage door by reversing his HMRC car into it and that he had failed to report it; meaning that he evaded accountability and, obviously, in doing so, his failure to be honest prevented the door being repaired by HMRC's insurers. Though that incident happened several years ago now, it is demonstrable of the character of some HMRC staff: no integrity.

Hopefully, with so many cameras nowadays, faced with similar circumstances, the likes of Richard would have little option but to own up, but past conduct shows they cannot be trusted and will break the rules if they think they'll get away with it.

Similarly, when a Senior Officer, Heather, put confidential HMRC data in the hands of her partner, Chris (not a member of HMRC staff), she invented a pyramid of lies about the circumstances in which this data breach had been committed. Recognising that this was a serious incident, that irrefutable evidence of it exists, and that Heather's dishonest account in regard to separate misconduct allegations would be instrumental in blocking justice, HMRC management and HR covered up the data breach - failing to report it to the ICO, the police, or even their own internal anti-corruption investigators. Lin Homer was informed about this unsavory episode. Guess what she did about it? Yep, *nothing*.

Meanwhile, innocent staff victims of HMRC's bullying culture are hounded to the brink of suicide for standing up to unacceptable misconduct, and they get none of the support that it is readily available from the organisation to the corrupt.

Ps. More shocking revelations will follow in the public interest in due course; only the unscrupulous should be worried about that, the rest will sleep well.

    3. And Field Force visiting staff don't even have DBS checks on them!

My advice to HR and management at HMRC - spend less time covering up misconduct and law-breaking and, instead, focus on getting your house in order: starting with DBS checks on all Field Force staff. Does the word 'Safeguarding' mean nothing to you incompetent losers?

  3. She was very responsible for Windrush with the first groups being hit were the children of British Female Citizens who had the right of abode and she cannot tell us she did not know because she and her staff were up to their necks in designing their policy of hate and discrimination against anyone they thought they could abuse bully and threaten. There is a lot to answer for

  4. I contacted Homer and Thompson about an HMRC Misconduct cover-up orchestrated by Moss, Gordon, Reid, Barker and Stapleton that enabled Connolly and others to retire and take lavish redundancy payments without being held to account. Homer and Thompson failed to take action, with Thompson going as far as to make dishonest statements in a letter to an MP. These people are the very worst of the public sector - they lack integrity and erode the trust and confidence of decent people. Put simply, they should not be working in it or collecting a pension from it. There is, indeed, a lot to answer for.
