  1. Boo hoo hoo! Poor little you, how dreadful to be referred to as something you'd rather not. Your life must have been utterly ruined, I don't really know how you can carry on under these circumstances. Yet another example of the bullying thugs in HMRC destroying people's lives.
Get a life you limp-wristed snowflake.

    1. Dear Saddo

I am sure HMRC have been really sweet to you (perhaps you are an employee now or in the past) and that's really lovely and everything.

That said, out in the real world, people are really fucked off with the incompetence from your lot and despise HMRC. If they have been "bullying" anyone, taxpayers or their own staff, it is fucking right that we hear about it and get something done about it. Suppose sucking up to the HMRC makes some feel tough, or maybe gives them a sense of identity, a wee bit of meaning in their lives...

    2. Fortunately most people have lives which are too full and meaningful to waste time stressing over the appropriateness or otherwise of the words customer and taxpayer. You are obviously not one of them.
And what is "your lot" supposed to mean.
Talking of making people feel tough I assume that is why you indulge in the pathetic habit of swearing online.

    3. ...so you are an HMRC employee now or previously? If they have been so lovely to you, why waste so much of precious your time on them? I could not care less about what terminology those wasters use, my only concern is raising awareness of the corruption and how they mistreat some staff and taxpayers.

    4. @ 15:12. My employment status is irrelevant but I was formerly employed by HMRC.
If they have been lovely to me why wouldn't I spend time on them.
If you couldn't care less about the terminology why are you posting on a thread about it.
Your post is totally incoherent. It's a bit early in the day to be on the sauce.

    5. Ken,this blog is now irrelevant...it's just like the HMRC Yammer forum....real stories now just negated by HMRC brown nosers.
Any negativity frowned upon...and those who complain are "followed" on Yammer.
      HMRC = North Korea

    6. Somebody getting themselves worked up about the difference between 'taxpayer' and 'customer' is not a real story, it is a space filler.
People not sharing your opinion on everything does not make the blog irrelevant.
HMRC bears no relation to the genocidal regime in North Korea, which is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of it's own people.
Just calm down, take a few breaths and have a nice cup of tea.

    7. I would like to nominate at 20:37 for the most incisive, perceptive and witty Internet posting of the year so far.
Does anyone know where I send the nomination?

  2. It's a good point but not really novel. HMRC went down the path of calling taxpayers customers over two decades ago; the clock will not be turned back. Anyone with a brain knows that if HMRC were a trading business they would have gone bust long ago - it's an absolute sewer of an organisation stuffed full with w*nkers lacking integrity who struggle in the real world away from the 'protection' of their employer.
